Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Project Coordinator to support the Waasigan Project Team, based on-site outside of Thunder Bay, ON.
Reporting to the Project Manager, we are seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator to support project scheduling, cost tracking, and communication between field construction staff and design engineers on a 365-kilometre Transmission Line Construction Project in northwestern Ontario.
Please Note: This is a 1-year fixed-term role based onsite between Thunder Bay and Dryden, ON. Successful candidates will work varying shifts and may be required to stay in Camps or Hotels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Gather status updates on project tasks and coordinate schedule updates between the Project Management team and the Project Controls team
Support planning activities including parallel activity coordination, develop execution plans, milestone lists and applicable timing, identify and quantify uncertainties and risks, and develop contingency plans
Coordinate communication between functional groups and subcontractors
Provide project administrative support where required
Coordinate staff and resources as guided by the construction manager or site supervisors
Attend pre and post construction meetings as required
Work with Construction Managers, Supervisors and Foreman to report daily production units and to track change as needed
Obtain all necessary backup documentation for submission to client
Track target manhours, schedule, and costs across assigned projects and provide regular updates and reports to the Project Management Team
Plan projects to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
Liaise between field construction staff, design engineers, and third-party engineers as required
Create, maintain and constantly look to improve project processes
Support scheduling, accounting, cost & document control, procurement, and project filing with all parties
Assist other project personnel with their duties as required
Requirements
Post-Secondary education in Civil or Electrical Engineering
3 years of experience in a construction project environment
An equivalent amount of experience and education / training may be considered
Previous experience working on a construction site
Working towards a professional designation (P.Eng., PMP)
Knowledge of project management processes and best practices
Proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Understanding of construction drawings and specifications
Ability to interpret project schedules
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
Experience working with a utility company (i.e. Hydro One)

This position offers a base salary range of $70 000 – $90 000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
