About the Role We are looking for an experienced Project Operations Manager to join our expanding team. In this role, you will focus on operational excellence across our portfolio of complex engineering projects, specializing in permitting subject matter expertise (SME) and supporting project controls. You will play a crucial part in ensuring permitting processes are streamlined, compliance is maintained, and project controls are implemented effectively to support on-time and on-budget delivery. What You’ll Do:: Operational Leadership: Serve as an operations lead for multiple projects, with primary focus on ensuring that permitting and compliance are seamlessly integrated into the project lifecycle. Permitting SME Support: Act as the subject matter expert consulting on permitting, guiding teams through regulatory requirements, managing permitting schedules, and proactively resolving permitting challenges to avoid project delays as a client facing key communicator. Project Controls: Support in the implementation and monitoring of project control systems, including budget management, and risk assessments. Provide accurate reporting and early warnings for potential deviations. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance permitting and project control processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external agencies to ensure all operational requirements are met and project objectives are achieved. Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage project data to inform operational strategies, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Quality & Safety: Uphold the highest standards of safety and quality throughout every phase of project execution. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:: 3-7+ years of experience in environmental assessments and investigations, permitting & resource management, project operations, or project controls, specifically in utility-scale solar or power generation. Experience with environmental and land-use permitting for large energy projects. Familiarity with watershed & water resource management and civil workflows for utility-scale solar. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field. Experienced in project operations, permitting processes, and project controls within the engineering or construction industries. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Skilled communicator who thrives on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration. Innovative problem-solver with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
