Role Overview

# Senior Transportation Project Manager - Summary for Job Seekers You'll balance three critical responsibilities: winning new business, leading a growing team, and delivering quality transportation projects. Your days involve cultivating relationships with SDDOT and regional agencies, developing business strategies, and managing proposals—while simultaneously overseeing roadway, traffic, and planning projects as hands-on PM. **Essential skills**: Strong technical transportation expertise, business development acumen, leadership capabilities, and relationship-building finesse. You'll need a PE license, civil engineering background, and proven ability to grow revenue and retain talent. **Why it's compelling**: At an A&E firm like FHU, you're uniquely positioned to shape an entire regional office's future. You're not pigeonholed into pure PM work—you drive growth, mentor emerging talent, and gain exposure to business operations typically reserved for senior leaders. This is ideal if you're ready to transition toward leadership roles while staying technically engaged.
